Freelancing Business - Five Main Challenges To Expect

Freelancing is an ever growing industry attracting numerous global professionals and outsourcers. Each has something to give and take in this industry. While becoming a freelancer sounds so good and easy nowadays, in reality, it is not. There are challenges for choosing to freelance full time. Some of the challenges are beyond what you can do and others are not.

Despite the fact that this is tricky and challenging, you should aim at attaining success. As a beginner, you are probably looking through various websites in the hope of finding useful tips and hints. In this article, let us focus on a few types of freelancing challenges.

They include the following:

Maintaining discipline - As a freelance writer, graphic designer, web developer, and any other professional, you have full control of your time. While corporate workers have to wake up early and rush things to get at the workplace on time, you are free to keep on sleeping. The simple fact that you lack corporate rules to follow and comply with can make it hard for you to maintain discipline. Without discipline and focus, you would definitely fail.

Procrastination - Corporate employees perform a task when their bosses demand it to keep things flowing smoothly. Since they lack a quick alternative, the employees get into the habit of doing things in time. A freelancer, on the other hand, can quickly form a trend of postponing tasks. Most of us have been a victim, including myself, and the result is not that good. Since the virtual workplace is flexible, a freelance worker get to choose the duration he or she wants to complete projects. The longer the duration, the easier it becomes to procrastinate and loss business.

Time management - Most freelancing beginners are passionate about making money and snatching the best paying jobs. What they do not mostly focus on is how to manage the projects they would win and how to finish them on time. Whilst this business allows too much freedom, one has to realize that it involves real employers. They have deadlines to meet and expect their workers to separate time for work and leisure. Many of us have lost long term contracts because we sort of portrayed laziness or poor time management skills.

Project management - If you are good at what you choose to do online, buyers will never ever want to lose you. Some of you have faced a challenge where every buyer wants their task done in a short time. Most of us get confused, overwork ourselves everybody and still lag behind on the part of the task. Another person makes the most intelligent decision - outsourcing some of the projects. Many starters are afraid to lose clients and hence force themselves on tasks they cannot finish on time.

Setting the rate - Although people have different reasons for freelancing fulltime or part time, they all look for people that can value their hard work. Some clients have pleasant personalities and it is easy to overlook how much they pay for your services. While this sounds good, it is not a very prudent thing to do. Monthly bills will still come and you will need money to pay them. While a starter does not have much of a choice, he or she should learn to set comfortable rates as days come and go.

Ways to Make Money Online Without Being the Best

The Internet is like an ocean filled with money making opportunities. Realistically speaking, there are hundreds and thousands of different methods to make money online. However, not everyone out there is able to master the art of making money online. More than often, individuals look to earn money fast. They generally hunt for the best ways to make money online. This approach works for some individuals, while others see their back against the wall.

Experts reckon that individuals should stick to one or two time tested methods and work upon them until they witness substantial results for their efforts. Switching from one method to another without allowing adequate time for a method to work is often termed as a recipe for failure. So, let's take a look at a couple of time tested money making strategies that you can consider to commence your online journey with success.

Today, newspapers, TV stations, magazines etc look incomplete without ads. After all, a major part of their revenue comes from the sale of advertisements. Now, the concept of ads selling is used in the web world as well. You can make healthy profits by selling advertisement spots on your website. Although this method takes time, it's bound to work by all means because loads of webmasters look for exposure. Your website will prove to be a reliable place to gain exposure for one's website, product or service. You will be compensated for the exposure.

For this method to work, you should have steady website traffic. Ideally, you can consider sale of ads once you receive least 100 to 150 visitors a day on your website. This might get lots of webmasters interested in the deal. You can either approach the advertisers directly, or you can advertise on forums that allow sale of advertisement spots. Rates can be negotiated with an individual advertiser. Usually, website owners charge a flat monthly fee to place ads on their websites. You can follow the same approach.

As mentioned earlier, there are innumerable ways to make money online. Today, scores of individuals out there make substantial amount of money selling Amazon products. Amazon is one of the largest online stores in the world. Almost anything can be brought through Amazon because all kinds of sellers exist on Amazon. Amazon runs a free affiliate program that enables one to earn money through sale of Amazon products. Upon free registration, you will be provided with a special code that you need to place on your website in order to display Amazon products on your web pages. If someone purchases any product through your website, you will receive a commission.

Commissions start at 4% and they can shoot up to 15%, depending upon several factors. The secret over here is to specialize in the sale of certain products. For instance, if you have a website related to supplements, you need to display relevant Amazon ads on your website. While Amazon can afford to sell everything, you need to specialize in one area. After all, targeted ads are the key to great conversion. One can also choose to display high value products to gain good commission on every sale.

Ten Reasons Your Prospects Hate Your Website

My good friend Sharon Roberts has been teaching contractors how to sell to women for more than twenty years. This petite, outspoken Texan starts most presentations to a room full of men the same way. She says:
When you got out of bed this morning, I am pretty sure it wasn't your goal to piss off a women, but I am pretty sure by the end of the day you did.

While this always gets a laugh, it also makes everyone a little uncomfortable, as they realize it is probably true. All too often as we evaluate small business websites we know, it wasn't the intention of whomever designed the website to annoy visitors, but they accomplished that goal, none the less.

What have they done to turn site visitors off with your web design? Here is a list of the ten biggest mistakes we see.

1. Confusing Navigation - Do you make it difficult for people to find information? Often we see confusing site architecture, or clever page titles, which don't mean anything to the average visitor. I made that mistake on the first roundpeg website. The pages all rhymed: Create, Generate, Colloaborate.. etc. People left, never knowing that we did graphic design, brainstorm strategy sessions and team building.

2. Hard to find contact information - I read somewhere that the number one reason people come to your website is to find your contact information. Is your phone number visible on the home page? Is the Contact US button easy to find?

3. Copy that talks about You not Me. I know it is your website, but before I care about your years in business, mission statement, and return policy, I want to know - Can you solve my problem?

4. Too much technical jargon - If I knew what HSPF, SEER, AFUE, VSP, SEO... all stood for, would I really need you?

5. Irritating flash animations, auto play videos and audio tracks - They are cute, clever and you spent a fortune to create them. I get it. But the third or fourth time I come back, I want to skip past them. And if I am viewing it on an iPhone, I can't see them anyway. Also in this category: popups, pop under and pop overs, which block my view of the very information I came to find.

6. Slow loading pictures - Did you forget to convert those high res images to small, quick loading GIFs? By the time the image has loaded I have made a snack, gone for a walk or found someone else to do what you do.

7. Too much, too much, too much - Pages with too much text or too many graphics can be a bit overwhelming. Search engines may love the content, but people will be turned off and leave. Don't be afraid to break the content up with a link to another page. If people don't follow the link you have not made the compelling case for the follow.

8. Unreadable text on dark backgrounds - I know I am old and I can't read lots of things without my glasses, but even people much younger then me have a hard time with small white text on a black background. It may look cool and edgy, but if you want people to be able to read you site, pay attention to readability

9. Broken Links: Whether you mean to take the visitor to another page on your site, or elsewhere on the internet. Make sure the links work. There is nothing more frustrating to a visitor then a "page not found" error.

10. Ugly and outdated design - Like walking into a dirty restaurant, it is hard to have confidence that a company has kept their skills fresh when their site looks like it was designed more than five years ago. Also in this category, last update more than 30 days ago. If you are not updating regularly, don't admit it on the home page.

So that's some of the most common web design mistakes we see, what would you add?

What is Web Conversion Rate and How Do You Get That Number?

Website conversion rate is a mathematical formula that compares the incoming traffic to the number of sales during a specified time period. In most terms it is how many customers purchased compared to how many people were sent to your website. An average rate is 1%.

The rate is not just about sales, it also is used for landing pages, squeeze pages, email sign up pages, affiliate landing page, and any other web page that gets traffic. And remember, each of your web pages will have a different website conversion rate.

One easy way to find out what your rate is, is to gather data from your pay per click advertising campaigns, then look at your sales (number of customers) or email sign up numbers. You will need to pick a start and end date for both your sales and PPC campaigns to have your number come out correctly.

You should try a 1 or 2 week time frame at first. Look at your stats for your PPC campaign for that time frame, then get the number of customers, or email sign ups, during that same time period. You should be able to get this number from PayPal, Clickbank, your email autoresponder, or your other accounts. You now should have 2 numbers, number of PPC clicks and number of sales (or email sign ups).

Now for the easy math, and yes a calculator will help. Take your sales number times 100 = then divide that number by your PPC number. Your resulting number is your conversion rate (already in %). This is how the math is written out: sales * 100 / PPC = conversion rate in %.

For example, if you chose a 2 week period from the 1st to the the 15th, and if you had 50 customers (or sign ups), and you paid for 1,000 clicks, your conversion rate would be 5%. The math would look like this: (50 * 100 )/1,000 = 5 %). Another example, if you paid for 10,000 clicks and you had 100 customers, your conversion rate would be a 1% rate and the math would look like this: (100 * 100 ) / 10,000 = 1 %).

Now that you know what website conversion rate is and how to get your own numbers, your next step is to discover how to increase your rate. When you increase your rate, you increase your sales without increasing your traffic expenses.

Develop Your Emotional Intelligence

Implementing existing strategies to make fast money is more possible today then it ever was before. With the advent of all the technology, you'll be able to find the solutions and answers to almost every problem or question out there. Having an exit strategy is one thing, but if you can't or won't implement it then it is absolutely useless. This goes back to having an action plan, something that allows you to follow along step by step, so you don't get to sidetracked. There are short term exit strategies that allow for you to make some fast money, and there are longer term strategies the will still make you money, just not the fast money.

Buying into the stock market can be scary venture for anyone with little or no knowledge of the workings. In order to give yourself the best possible chance to make both, fast money, as well as the long term consistent money, you have to educate yourself, and continue to learn on an ongoing basis. You also must be able to implement exiting strategies without letting your emotions factor in. This is where many people will have a difficult time. Emotional intelligence is one of the main components you'll need to develop in order to succeed in the 21st century. It will factor in to almost every decision you make, or don't make. By eliminating the emotional aspect, and learning how to change your emotional programming, you'll be implementing exiting strategies without another thought.

Channeling is a concept that is common in the stock market lingo. It allows for anyone to make fast money, with very little risk. When a stock price is at $10 and moves to $15, then back down to $10, and keeps this similar pattern, it is said to be moving sideways. This is your opportunity to get in at the low of $10, and then ride it up to $15. By implementing exiting strategies, without emotional involvement, you'll be making some fast money, virtually risk free. These types of stocks must be monitored for a period of time until there is a visible pattern that emerges. You should always do your due diligence in your studies of these stocks, either on your own or through a licensed broker or advisor.

Most people think that you can't make fast money in the real estate market. They think it is a buy and long term hold, so the thought of anything else never enters their minds. This is where your creative thinking will come into good use. Just because you've never bought a property with no money down, doesn't mean it can't be done...just because you've never seen a 40 foot shark, doesn't mean they don't exist. If there are people out there that have purchased property with little or no cash of their own down, and then flipped it to earn some fast money, then all you have to do is study and learn how they did it, and implement those steps yourself. But you must take action because results don't happen without actions.

Students Can Make Money?

All students can do with a little extra cash. So what are some money making options for a student?

You could get a part time job. But let's be honest, most part time jobs aren't much fun. Nor do they pay fantastically well. Students often end up working long hours in a bar or restaurant for little money, others might get involved with part time manual work such as cleaning which might pay even less.

You will be pleased to hear that there are other options!

One thing that might appeal more to you is running a part time internet business. I strongly recommend this as an option for any student as this is something I have done myself.

Running a part time business online can benefit you three ways:

* You can make good money
* You are your own boss, and
* You can gain a lot of useful experience that can be used later on in life.

I imagine that as a student you will have a computer to help with your studies. If not, then you probably have easy access to a computer on campus or from a friend.

There are just two basic tools you need to run an online business - a computer and an internet connection.

Of course, you need a little bit of 'know how' also, but this knowledge can be surprisingly easy to obtain.

If you want to keep your online business simple then there are obvious options, such as selling unwanted items on eBay. You may have some old CDs, DVDs or books that you don't want any more that you can sell on eBay.

Selling this way will make you a bit of money but it is not hugely sustainable because you are soon likely to run out of stuff. To replenish stocks, you could visit some yard sales to buy things cheaply then resell them for a small profit on eBay.

As an alternative to eBay consider selling your unwanted items on Amazon, at the Amazon Marketplace. I have found it a really good site, to both buy and sell items. For example, I sometimes buy DVDs of TV series watch them and then sell them to someone else on Amazon. That way, the DVDs end up costing me just a few dollars rather than paying 30 dollars to buy them new. You can even come away with a profit sometimes!

But if you are REALLY SERIOUS about making a good income online (maybe a thousand or two thousand dollars a month - or even more) I would recommend doing what I did: be patient, take a long-term view and learn about marketing and selling over the internet.

It is important to try and get to grips with the following:

* Learn how to create and market a website: I spent some time learning how to create a website and just as importantly how to market a website... There are many ways to market a website online, for example you can use articles or you can use search engine marketing - such as Google AdWords).
* Create your own products and use affiliates: Once both things are in place, and you are generating traffic to your website, you can either send that traffic to another website - this means you will be an affiliate of that website and should earn yourself a commission on any sales made from traffic that you send to that website - or you can create your own products instead, maybe an ebook or marketing toolkit that you might then sell via your own website.

Before you get started on your own online venture it is very important to research the market to see what is selling, a good starting point could be a site called Flippa.com. Flippa is a site where you can buy ready-made websites, so by taking a look at the site you can see what the current trends are, for example which type of sites are in demand and trading well.

As with most things, the more you understand the more money you can ultimately make for yourself. So you can start at the easy end (little stress, modest profits) - trading on sites such as eBay or Amazon Marketplace - or you could put in the time and effort to develop expert knowledge and build up a credible part time business that might make you a thousand, two thousand dollars a month, maybe more.

Who knows... maybe a year from now you may be pleasantly surprised to discover how much you have earned online working part time!

How to Finding Sites that Can Making Money!

An excellent additional income opportunity is one that you'll be able to study online, because you're working online naturally! You need a course of instruction that teaches you all you need to know about money making sites. You need step by step info on a daily basis that demonstrates to you the complete process and with somebody assisting you every step of the way with skilled advice. You need a course of instruction that requires using the Internet to sell products without handling them, but bringing in a commission from every purchase!

Again, the finest method to learn how to make money online is to get a step-by-step, one-on-one assistance and the direction that have made so many additional people just like yourself became successful. They'll tell you that they didn't learn how to create income online from eBooks to create income online. The finest method is by implementing what you learn as you learn. To do this, you want a system or surroundings that will allow you to implement and experience what you learn and guide you every step of the way.

If you would like to be successful in earning money online, the finest way is to pick a resource that is involved with your success. Such loyalty can easily be determined by the accessibility and type of ongoing support, tools, and direction that you need to earn income online. Nevertheless, it must not cost you your entire savings to get these tools. More significantly, you must be able to get all that you require from just one single source and with one payment. It could be each month or annually but it should be cost effective.

There are resources that will entice you with a lot of free offers but create the need to pay for supplemental needed tools. There are so several money making sites out there, believe me as I've signed on with a measure of them. To be reasonable, a few of the resources are adequate, and can meet particular needs. Nevertheless, the finest way is to gain access to a full set of resources at one site you merely can't yield to pursuit after the next best thing that appears to be profitable.

How I Became a Full Time Online Entrepreneur

My experience in trying to learn how to do business online wasn't actually as pleasant and enjoying as a comfortable walk in the park would be for anyone. Believe me, I had my own share of struggles and sacrifices at first. However, because of my strong desire to really quit my day job and just create a consistent flow of income from the very comfort of my home someday, I was very willing to endure the long hours of study and countless other sacrifices I had to undertake in order to achieve my goal.

So, did I finally succeed in my endeavor to becoming an online entrepreneur and create a consistent & full time living from home someday? You bet I did. Although I don't believe in luck really, after only barely more than a year - I got what most would call a "lucky break" already. But I'm sure you would like to know what steps have I actually gone through to achieve such goal and how?

Here is my story.

The very first venture I took and experimented with which actually became an eye opener for me later on in my entire pursuit to create income online was none other than eBay. However, it did not take long for me to realize that this method of making money on the internet wasn't really for me but it did introduce me to a product that will spark the whole idea of how to really create an income online for me. This product was a package consisting of hundreds of ebooks teaching several different topics on how to make money online and how to market any product, business, or website on the internet.

The first significant step I took towards my online success was to actually buy that ebook product. I can still recall very well how too novice I was to the whole internet industry and the very nature of how to do any kind of business online. I started reading every ebook that was included in the package. It was very exhausting for me as I felt I was racing against time since I very badly wanted to start earning an income to prove to my self that this goal was very much achievable and the other reason was that so I could immediately recover my small investment for buying that product which was actually a big amount for me already at that time.

The first topic that caught my interest amongst the several ebooks that were inside that package was how to make money using Google's AdSense program. So I began researching on how to own a website which then lead me to building my first ever website. Having my own website later on introduced me to other ways of making money online including earning from affiliate programs.

Little did I know that after learning all that, I would now face the hardest part of the entire process which was the challenge of promoting my website. However, I knew at that moment that I was slowly but surely heading on towards my goal inch by inch as day goes by.

If you search the topic about promoting a website, you will find several different methods out there. I actually did try almost every proven method. But there is only one internet marketing method that I have proven effective and remains to be the main source of traffic for my websites - and that is the method of ranking my websites on top of the search engine pages.

Brands are all around us today, and there are many companies who do nothing else apart from taking your product and business and creating an image in customers minds that is associated with the product or service. But how will you get branding to work for you?

First of all, let's have a look at the history of brands. Like most things, real mass-marketed brands originated in the UK. Industrialisation was pioneered in Britain in the 19th Century. Until then, most products were very localised and were mostly produced in small cottage industries.

After industrialisation blossomed, mass produced products were made available to a wider audience, but something was needed to make customers want to buy these new products that came from many miles away.

That something was marketing of brands. The word 'brand' is, as you have guessed it, the same thing as the mark that shows to whom a cow belongs. A bar of soap would be stamped or branded with the company logo. This meaning was then extended to include any show of company identity with a product.

The Bass brewery in Britain has a distinctive red triangle that they branded onto sides of their barrels. This is claimed as the world's oldest brand.

The role of a brand is to associate in the minds of your customer the idea or image of your product, company or service. People need to want the thing you are selling, and unless your thing is truly unique then you're going to have to do a good job of associating an image with your product to make customers want it.

Common images that are used for marketing are luxury, youthfulness, fun, or sexiness. Once a product is associated with one of these, it quickly becomes more than the sum of its parts, and people start to buy the brand rather than the actual product.

What this means to you is that your business or product needs to stand for something, and that something has to be fundamental to human nature. People want to be liked, respected, they want to be found sexy, they want to smell nice. Your business or product should appeal to one of these. Try to find a niche, and then stick to it. It takes a long time for people to associate the brand with you so don't keep changing it.

Once you've found your image, ensure that you are telling the truth. If your image is 'cheap' why are you charging 3 times as much as the next guy? Your reputation is 80% of the brand image. Your marketing can be excellent but if you don't deliver, be sure that the word will spread.

If you have a business established, and are looking to brand it, maybe you don't need to think of a new brand, just listen to what your existing customers have to say. How do they see you?

Think: how is your business or product better than the next one? If you know, then tell the world.

Don't Get Your SEO Optimized Page Banned!

There are a few myths out there that are circulating wildly about what can get your optimized and not so optimized pages banned by Google and other search engines.
Here are a few things you won't get banned for:
• Being in a link farm - Google won't penalize you for something someone else could do to you. That means while you might get little to no "benefit" from being in a link farm, you won't get banned by google.
• Low Quality links back to your site - A pr1 link is not a bad thing. While it doesn't carry much PR weight, it's still a link back to your site and won't hurt you.

Guess what? You can still get banned from google for doing what is commonly known as BlackHat SEO techniques. These are what the bad guys do to get high rankings temporarily......don't try it, you will get caught. It's also a way for some sneaky "SEO EXPERTS" to rip you off, and ultimately get you banned from Google and other engines.
What Not to Do
• You should use huge blocks of text in your ALT TAGS. A short one line description as we have covered elsewhere will do.
• Don't abuse meta-tags, again short and to the point is much better for you in the long run.

Don't "HIDE" text in the background. That means if your page background is green, don't add a bunch of green text with your keywords.
• Don't use doorway/gateway/bridge pages. That includes those software programs that create "1000's" of supposedly targeted content at the click of a button.
• Don't link to banned websites. You should check your linking partners every once in a while to make sure none of them are banned for using unapproved SEO techniques. If they are banned, you DO get penalized for linking to them. Note: Banned sites are indicated by a completely grey bar in the google PR box.

Introduction to Google Adsense

Google has unleashed an amazing source of advertising and revenue for both advertisers and publishers of websites. It’s called Google Adsense. Adsense gives website publishers of all sizes the ability to display relevant Google ads on their content pages. Because the ads are relevant to your content your click through rates will be very high (You earn revenue as a publisher everytime someone clicks on an ad on your page).
It works like this – Google actually READS the content on a website and places relevant ads based on that content.
Advertisers bid on keywords to have THEIR ad be displayed on those pages. The advertiser only pays if someone clicks on their ad.

You need to be approved to be an Adsense Publisher – and to do that you need a website.
Your site should have the following features:
1.) Content
2.) Purpose

3.) Other advertising such as an affiliate program or opt in newsletter.
It’s important to have something on your site OTHER than just content. Google wants relevant GOOD sites – not sites just put up to earn money from Google.
That being said – after you are approved for your first site, you can display your Adsense Ads on your other sites as long as you abide by their guidelines. I suggest reading their terms of services but as a general rule you want to:
• Not display Adsense Ads in pop-ups.
• Suggest that others click on your Adsense Ads.

Discover how to write copy that sells

It doesn’t matter how fancy and high tech your site is, good looking graphics will
not make you sales. Many online marketers make the mistake of putting too
much time and energy into the design of their site, and not enough into writing
effective sales copy. Producing a site that is both professional looking and
credible is a major factor in selling online, but if your sales copy is not working,
you will not make money.
Writing effective sales copy is an art. Good copy writers have learned how to
produce persuasive text targeted towards their particular audience. You really
need to understand your customers’ needs and produce copy that projects
emotion, passion, excitement and benefit.
Selling is also about enthusiasm, and projecting that on to your target audience.
Being excited about the product will shine through, so avoid dry, over formal copy
and let your passion for the subject show

AIDA
The following is a tried and tested formula for writing effective sales copy, keep
this in mind while planning your copy’s beginning, middle and end.
A - Attention - Use a powerful headline that demands attention
I - Interest - Intrigue interest and create curiosity
D - Detail - Provide details about your product or service
A - Action - Call for action
Begin writing your copy in black easily readable font with a light background.
Complicated fonts and dark backgrounds will make your copy difficult to read and
will put off your visitor.
Avoid using fancy fonts or backgrounds that will make your text difficult to read.
Write in small blocks of text with a space between each block. There is nothing
that will make your visitor click away faster than a sea of text - so make sure you
use plenty of white space

Selling and Emotion
The importance of emotion needs to be fully understood before embarking on a
successful copy writing project. It is a sales cliché that customers buy benefits
and not features. This is only partly true. To take the theory a little deeper, people buy because of how those benefits will make them feel. So it is emotion that is
key to writing effective copy that sells.
So in effect, sell what the surfer really wants, and establish this through
knowledge of basic human needs, which you are about to learn in the following
section.

Human Motivators
Let’s now examine basic human motivators. Psychologist Abraham Maslow,
bases human behavior around at least one basic need. His theory is that without
you addressing a less important need, there won't be any desire to pursue a
more important need.
His idea is based around "the hierarchy of human needs." Here are the five
human motivators, as he sees them, beginning with the basic, and ending with
the most important needs.
Physiological - Basics needs include hunger, thirst, shelter, clothing and sex.
Safety (Security) – The need for physical, emotional and financial security.
Social (Affiliation) – The human need for love, affection, companionship and
acceptance by their peers.
Self Esteem - Human need for achievement, recognition, attention and respect.
Self-actualization - The need for people to reach their full potential.
You should incorporate these needs into your writing. Get inside the head of
your audience, feel their needs, wants and desires and include passion and emotion in your headlines and copy. So sell security (social and relationship),
independence, self-confidence, achievement and not what the product does:
- Extra strong Lock
- Reduces fat
- Improves appearance
- Contains Xeterma B1z.
These are all features. However, how will purchasing the product make the
customer feel? Concentrate on this on not features and technical specifiations.
Features and technical data can be used to back up your site’s claims - but
should not be used as the key selling tool.

Link Strategy

Links
Links are the most important element after content on the internet! Why? Because this is how the internet world is tied together – through links.
This guide will explain key factors about links and how to use them in the right way for acquiring good rankings in search engines.
Link campaigns
Every successful web site has to have links pointing to it. That’s the core principle of search engine rankings. So to gain visitors and rankings in search engines a link campaign must be planned and executed.

Where to get links???

Links can be gained in several ways - the most popular are explained below.
Directories – are the best way to start working on your link campaign. There are hundreds of directories and many of them are free so it is good to start there. Some might require a backlink before accepting inclusion, some might require 5-20$ payment but in return will give 4 to 10 links to your website to different pages and with different link texts.
Forums and newsgroups – are another option for gaining links – all it takes is posting into related places and along with posts include also links to website. Links can be integrated in signature or also in part of reply if there is appropriate information.
Blogs – are a great solution to give its owner total control over content and links. As a lot of blogging companies offer blogs for free it just makes sense to create them and use for link creation and building a network of sites around central website, however these blog sites have to be linked by other external sites.
Articles and press releases – represent a very powerful strategy for getting one way links as well as an instant stream of extra visitors if the article is republished by some online or offline medium. Places to submit articles:

DMOZ and Yahoo directories – these two are very powerful in eyes of search engines – also called trusted sites. Link from any of these will assure search engines that your site should be high quality. However, it is quite tricky to get in free DMOZ especially if it is a 13 page affiliate site with links and banners everywhere. The same applies to Yahoo as well as 300$ to 600$ nonrefundable fee to review your site for inclusion which won’t guarantee inclusion.
Link exchange – most popular way for gaining huge numbers of links and improve site rankings. Only disadvantages that reciprocal links are worth less than one way links.
Link networks – stay away from these. Getting 500 links in one day is a sure way to get penalized by search engines.

Link gaining speed
The speed of links appearing in a website is used for several spam prevention filters invented by search engines. For a new website it wouldn’t be advisable to get more than 100 links in the first month. This mean 2-3 links a day as an optimum way for first month.
Why? Because site has to grow slowly as it would do naturally.
Next month the number of links can be grown at speed of 3-5 links per day.
On third month up to 5-10 links a day can be added.
For older sites that already have a good reputation and have PageRank of 4 or more and 500+ links, the speed can be faster - 10-30 links a day.
It is important to add links to internal sections/pages and add new content constantly as the link campaign is being executed.

Business Philosophy

The purpose of affiliate marketing is that through the promotion of outside companies' products, an affiliate gets paid. In a Pay-Per-Sale setting like ours, every time a surfer comes from your site to ours and buys a product, we give you a monetary kickback. In a way, you're an internet broker. 2 major features go into affiliate marketing and they can be broken down into a simple equation: Internet Traffic + Product Promotion = A Paycheck for You

Internet Traffic
The first part of the equation, internet traffic, is possibly the most fought over and hardest part of affiliate marketing. It is best summarized as the quest to get those elusive surfers to your site. Traffic is the foundation of e-commerce and no website is successful without it. There are two fundamental ways people can find you online. The first and most popular is through a search engine.

Search Engines
When most consumers go online to find a product or service, they use a search engine. Popular search engines include Google, Yahoo, and Msn to name a few. Generally, the consumer will go one, maybe two pages deep in their search for a website they'd like to visit. Logically, the better your rank in a search engine, the more consumers that will come to your site. Because surfers won't go 10 pages deep in a search engine's results, site ranking is VERY competitive.

SEO
There are two ways to get ranked with a search engine. The first is referred to as SEO (search engine optimization). This is by far the most competitive (and profitable) route. Google, for instance, places a great amount of emphasis on your website's links. The more links you have going out and coming into your website from other “like” websites, the more “relative” your site becomes. Consequently, the more relative your site is, the higher your page rank. There are numerous other ways to optimize your site for SEs. Our team will be happy to give you with this and point you to more resources.

PPC
The second method by which a website can get ranked with a search engine is using a pay-perclick (PPC) campaign. Above, you can see the PPCs on the right side of the google page. Instead of competing for page rank, these listings pay to get listed here. PPCs are beneficial, because the owner of the ad ONLY pays when someone clicks on their listing. So you're only paying for surfers to come to your site who's interests were sparked by your ad.
Most PPCs allow you to write your ad and bid on different keywords of your choice. For example, if you are running a cocaine addiction review site, you might choose keywords like “cocaine addiction solution” or “cocaine addiction symptoms”. You could then bid on the keywords, specifying that you'd be willing to pay $0.20 per click. Submit your ad and away you go. Again, a word of caution. Read up on PPC
campaigns and learn as much as you can. Done well, they can be cash cows, done poorly; they'll take you to the cleaners.

Alternative Traffic Marketing
There are virtually no limits to where you can get traffic for your website. You can set up reciprocal links with other like websites and trade traffic (this also helps your SEO). Email campaigns, as long as they are targeted and are not spam, can work well. Snail mail mailers, flyers, and traditional advertisements can also work. Just like building your site, be creative in its promotion. This helps you stand apart from the crowd and will lead to more traffic to your site.

Product Promotion
So once you have the surfer in your site, what do you do with them? Your task is to get them to want to click on the links to our sites. Different affiliate programs have different ideas on how to do this. A lot of it depends on the products or services that they offer. With our sites and products, there we've found a few ways to be very successful.

Product Matching
A big part of affiliate marketing is matching the products you promote to the site you run. If you can do this well, you'll convert.

Internet Marketing Coaching

For years business coaches have had a positive impact on people’s lives. Some of my clients are business coaches and life coaches and success coaches.
So, I don’t want you to think that I have some sort of vendetta against coaches when I say Internet Marketing Coaching doesn’t work.
And, I’m sure that there are the few success stories out there where an Internet marketing coach helped turn a failing website into a rags to riches story.
What I can say is that most Internet marketing coaches are either incapable of helping their clients or the clients never even give the coaches the chance to help them. In both cases, practically all Internet marketing coaching programs fail when:

1) The Internet marketing coach is not experienced
Most Internet marketing coaching programs are inspired by a world-renowned speaker but the coaching sessions are implemented by a second or third-hand employee making $10-$20/hr. The helpers might be experienced with Internet processes but very rarely will they be experienced with a wide variety of industries, products, and audiences.
2) The Internet marketing coach doesn’t have time for you
Most Internet marketing coaches get paid by a combination of by-the-hour rate and how many coaching sessions they can get through in a day or week. Their interest is call volume…rather than your sales volume.
3) The Internet marketing coach loses interest if your results are not quick
Make no mistake. Owners of Internet marketing coaching businesses care about one thing. Getting through as many coaching clients as possible until that one lucky star makes a few bucks within 30 days and offers a testimonial. An Internet marketing coach wants only more coaching clients. And, they get those by wowing you at Internet marketing conferences with their occasional testimonials.
4) The Internet marketing coach won’t tell you exactly what to do
Many Internet marketing techniques that are suggested during coaching sessions never produce the expected results. Why? Because coaches are very afraid of liability. They legally can’t tell you to “try changing your headline to this…” They’ll instead tell you to “try a more captivating headline.” As a result, most suggested techniques never even get implemented because the coach is too vague in his instruction for a layperson to carry out the task.
5) The Internet marketing coach doesn’t care if you use your sessions or not
All of the previous four reasons for why Internet strategy coaching doesn’t work leads up to one result; the client stops calling for more coaching. The client gets intimidated that they’re not able to produce the results even with the coaching. The client is not able to implement the vague suggestions and lets time pass. Then, when contact is made, the coach is on to other projects…looking for those quick-hit testimonials.
What’s the Internet Marketing Coaching Solution?
So, what’s the solution? Simple. Don’t look for an Internet marketing “coach” but a mentor instead. Finding an Internet marketing strategy mentor can be a challenge and costly, but you want to look for someone who has done what you want to do. Someone with whom you enjoy conversing and interacting with. Someone who will take you under their wing and help you step-by-step with a genuine interest in the long-term success of your project.
There are three types of Internet marketing mentors, but our team at HereNextYear mentors every client as part of our normal business. That’s right! You don’t have to pay extra for our mentoring services; they’re built-in to whatever you have us do for you.
We might, for example, design a Web site and teach our clients step-by-step how to maintain their own content instead of them having to contact a designer when they want basic Web site content changes. Look for an Internet strategy mentor rather than an Internet marketing coach and your results will much more likely exceed your expectations.
